Description

emerge and FareShare have teamed up to combine FareShare’s social aim with that of emerge;
to relieve food poverty and to reduce waste.
emerge FareShare is a unique scheme that redistributes surplus food from the waste industry to homeless and vulnerable people in Greater Manchester.
We need volunteers to make this project a success.
What can you do to help?
Drivers collect and deliver donated food to community groups. They carry out van checks and help to plan routes and deliveries. Drivers must have a licence with no more than 3 points, must be over the age of 25 years and have recent driving experience.
Drivers’ mates compile shift schedules and direct drivers to delivery points and ensure the paperwork is completed at each stop.
Sorters ensure that food is of an acceptable quality for redistribution.
No experience necessary as training will be given in all aspects of the roles.
This is a great opportunity to make new friends and give practical help to improve the diets of disadvantaged groups.
