Much of the content on these sites is produced by Community Reporters.
Community Reporters are people who have got something to say, and enjoy saying it - real people, with real stories. If you've got access to a computer, you can be a Community Reporter. You can use words, pictures, audio or video - whatever you feel most comfortable with, it doesn't really matter. Likewise it doesn't really matter what you talk or write about (within reason! See our editorial policy) – it doesn't have to be 'news', as such, it can just be something you want people to know about.
If you're already doing something- perhaps you write a blog - you can become a Community Reporter without doing anything more than what you're doing at the moment. If you're based in Manchester, or doing things in Manchester, and have a blog or a website, why not link it up to our site via an RSS feed? You'll get thousands more people reading about the things that matter to you.
Being a Community Reporter means that you'll get access to free training and media equipment, such as video cameras and laptops, which you can then use to produce even more content, in even more imaginative ways! All we ask from you is that you produce something that we can link to on the site.
If you're new to all this stuff, but want to get involved, we can offer you training, starting with the basics of using a computer, to how to make and edit your own films.
For more background information on the programme go to People's Voice Media Community Reporters

If you're not interested in being a Community Reporter but would like to contribute to our community news service by feeding your blog or website to this site through RSS then click on the

Anabelle came along to help set up a short video unit at the OCC. I came along, and there were so many people there!

I’m not a big clubgoer myself - I’d rather see music played in the flesh - but I’m well aware of Manchester’s big clubbing tradition, which I guess dates back to 1963 when the Twisted Wheel opened. And we don’t even need to mention the H word, do we?
But...

Whenever I visit Ordsall Community Cafe the conversation usually turns to the Salford Lads Club, which is situated on Coronation Street just around the corner.
For me the club is famous as it featured on the inner sleeve of The Smiths “The Queen is Dead” album.

It’s good to see that MIF has time to contact individual Manchester bloggers with updates. They sent me details about last year’s inaugural festival so here, for your perusal, are some of the good things that MIF 2007 achieved:
Created 25 world premieres, against a target of 10, with...

I kind of missed the boat on this particular theme but, inspired by Northernights’ Manchester blog end-of-year round-up, I’ve decided to waste most of this Sunday afternoon by putting together my favourite albums of 2007:
1. Panda Bear - Person Pitch (Paw Tracks)
The universally acclaimed album of 2007,...
